Trauma-informed yoga
Movement is Medicine
Trauma-informed yoga recognizes the impact that trauma and stress have on the entire mind-body system and helps to restore nervous system balance and regulation.
Yoga integrates mindfulness, conscious breathing, and somatic awareness. It provides an opportunity to release stored trauma, cultivate a deeper connection with yourself, and find more relaxation and ease in your body.
As a certified yoga teacher through YogaWorks, with additional training in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), I have created the Trauma-Informed Yoga series to help you integrate this beautiful practice into your own healing work.

trauma-informed yoga invites you to:
Connect with your body in the present moment
Observe emotions, sensation, and thoughts without judgement as they come and go
Listen to your body, refer to your own wisdom, and practice movements and poses that feel supportive for you
Notice what feels good in your body and where you tend to hold tension and stress
Let go of self-judgment and the idea that there is a "right or wrong" to move, and instead, experiment with curiosity and kindness
Make your own empowered choices about what to do with your body in each moment
Use your breath and other resources as an anchor to the present moment
